I’m testing creating new sites, but they initially come out blank and there is a theme error on the dashboard: “ERROR: The theme directory “mytheme/test” does not exist”. “test” is the name and/or path I gave the new site.

This is easily fixed by updating the theme options, but it would be great to figure out why it’s doing this and know if it may cause any other issues when cloning sites with real content.

That is strange. Have not seen anything like that before. Are you by chance naming your Source site (in Settings > General) the same name as your theme folder? This value in the database might be getting replaced by the auto replacements that we have to run to make sure all the old values correctly reflect the new values so the clone works. If that doesn’t ring any bells you can always send the logs from the clone operation under /wp-content/plugins/ns-cloner-site-copier/logs to

    and we’ll take a peak.

Actually, the naming issue was the problem. Did a few test after changing the theme name and theme folder name that didn’t pan out, but all I did was add “theme” at the end so I noticed the error was slightly different.

    Instead of:
“ERROR: The theme directory “mytheme/test” does not exist”

    It was:
“ERROR: The theme directory “mytheme/testtheme” does not exist”

Once i completely changed the name I no longer had any issues.

Thank you very much for sticking with the troubleshooting on your end. We were digging into the logs that you sent but this saved us time too. Really appreciate your follow up.

    All the best!
