Support » Plugin: WordPress Vimeo videos » 16:9 Video Is only (about) 150px tall and has huge black bars on either side

    Hi. I’m sorry I’m dumb but I just imported my first video, created at 16:9.

    When it appears in the preview of my post or in the actual post, the viewport is 640px wide but only about 150px tall! This means the video is approximately 270px wide by 150px in height! It has two huge black bars on either side of it to make up for the difference in the 640px wide viewport.

    What to I need to do to have my 16:9 video fill the entire width of the 640px viewport and adjust its height to 360px?

    Can you please give me a link where I can see this? Thank you, let me know.

    The problem video can be seen at the bottom of this post:

    I have a link right above the video that takes the user to another page on the site to view a “normal” size video.

    The video on Vimeo can be seen here:

    Thanks, CodeFlavors!

    This is a CSS issue, in your WP theme stylesheet you have this:

    img, object, embed {
    height: auto;
    margin: 0px auto 0px;

    The plugin sets object to have 100% width and height and the size is controlled by parent div. Try adding this into your theme styles.css:

    .cvm_single_video_player object{ height:100%!important; }

    Let me know how this goes, thank you. Also, if not too much to ask for, please give the plugin a rating/review.

    That did it!

    You are a genius of the first rank!

    For the record, the theme is “Natural Theme” by Organic Themes (

    I have given you a FIVE-star review. Thanks for your assistance!
