Newbie Initial Multisite setup

    This might have been answered but I can’t find it.

    I have a client wanting a WordPress multisite setup. The current site is still live and will be until the new site is ready.

    I have been asked to start the development on a new server and map the domain/s to it when the time is right.

    In the meantime how do I install and build a new multisite with no domain name? Can it be done through an IP address?
