Plug-in integration

Hi,
I’m a beginner with worpress but I have some php/css skills.
I just downloaded the last version of WordPress, bought a themeforest theme (soundwave) and a plugin to make a resume page which is Resume page : http://wordpress.org/plugins/resume-page/.

So, basically, I just want to integrate the page into my theme, because when i set it up (activate the resume plugin in the page), it just produce a totally blank page and I have no header no footer, nothing.
The author says “It also has a smart templating feature that let’s developers in the house easily override the template. Just drop it into your child theme, and mod away.” but I cannot figure out how I should do that. what should I drop and where I should drop it ?

Do I have to take some css and copy it somewhere ? or php maybe ? I’m lost, can you help me ? 🙂
