• I have been setting up a new WordPress server and (for the sake of illustration) it’s called “myserver1″. I configured the WordPress and Site Addresses (under settings) to be http://myserver1.mydomain.com/blog” and all works well when I access the blog through that URL. So far so good.

When I am ready to put this intro production I make DNS changes to ensure www points to the server and I update the WordPress and Site Addresses to be http://www.mydomain.com/blog.

When I load the blog from that last URL I see all my content. However, the background image still references http://myserver1.mydomain.com/blog/…./headerimage.jpg”. If I look at the source of the page I see that URL and the image doesn’t render on the page. All other URLs in the source of the page references http://www.mydomain.com/blog.

I assumed that the header image – like everything else – would use the WordPress URL but it the one URL that still refers to the old URL.

BTW, I did restart my web server in case of some weird caching but that didn’t fix the issue.

Any ideas on how I can fix this?

You can see the problem page here: http://www.wednet.com/blog/ (look at the source – I have no idea why the reference to wednetweb1 remains).

    Mark
