tags4page breaks tag URL rewrites in WordPress 2.5

    After updating to WordPress 2.5 all tag links /tag/foo/ resulted in a 404 page. I deactivated all plugins and was able to narrow it down to tags4page as the cause. I appreciate the functionality of the plugin and wouldn’t like to miss it. Pleeeeaaase fix it.

    If the plugin author doesn’t I may be able to help. But…

    However tags4page and my adaptations to it don’t solve a greater problem. The tags entered via the plugin to a page do not appear in the tag cloud as the count is not updated. This can only be done to posts not pages as that is hard coded into the core scripts.

    A simple alternative is already available though – simple tags which is a larger more extensive plugin.
