Says the author of the page is ‘admin’. I am logged in as ‘admin’. Under users ‘admin’s roll is ‘Administrator’.

When I try to edit a page I created (long time ago, perhaps it broke from upgrading wordpress so many times), i get error: “You are not allowed to edit this page.”.

    Thanks for any help!

    Anyone have a suggestion?

I’m having a similar problem. Hopefully someone will have a solution

Go to your server and locate the wordpress sql database. (You can use phpAdmin for this.) In the wp_posts table, locate the page(s) you wish to delete. I normally set mine to unpublished or private beforehand. This makes them easier to find. Then, click the box beside the page and click delete.

You can also use an SQL delete string.

WARNING: This is permanent! There is no going back and changing your mind, so make sure you don’t want the page! I also recommend backing up your database beforehand (just in case). (I’ve never needed it, but you never know.

I don’t think this is actually a WordPress issue. In my case, it is directly tied to a few plugins used on the site. Since the client isn’t bothered by it and really needs the plugins, the plugins stay and we use a cumbersome delete mechanism.
