    Hi Paul,

Thanks for working on this nice/useful plugin
I do not run it yet on the live site, just been playing around to see how it works,

If I may suggest few features that might make it better?

    1) the list: Press here to pick events
it could be streamlined, ((I do know it is not critical though)
but if possible.. based on what plugins are installed –
another way to streamline it, would be to have a events settings page where it would be possible to enable/disable certain events..

    2) I have not worked it out.. but does the plugin support avatars/ icons as prizes etc?
If it does.. it would be neat if sample pack was available out of the box 🙂

    3) it is not 100% related, But, considering it is used with bbpress/buddypress..
if it could create (or be combined with the event/plugin) so that users could ‘thank’ for the reply given on the forums..
in my view, it would be more useful in general, than awarding users for joining/leaving group (I can see this can be abused just to gain points :))
or at least, if it would work with ‘like’ bbpress plugin.

    4) this is just a suggestion re help – if there was a demo site set up to see how achievements are working in practice.. it would be cool 🙂
Main bbpress forums or buddypress site? maybe :)??

    anyways, thanks for reading

    Hi Kris,

    Thanks for leaving your thoughts.

    1. Yes, I agree. We tried to do this a few versions back but couldn’t get it to work right. We have a ticket for this enhancement somewhere but I can’t find it quickly. But it’s something we will definitely be re-visiting. 🙂

    2. Prizes? How do you see this working? I unlock an achievement, get some sort of icon as a prize… and then what? What dies “prize” actually mean here?

    3. This is more of an enhancement idea for bbPress — topic/reply likes. I can’t support things in Achievements that don’t exist in other plugins. 🙂

    4. I could set up a demo site — but I don’t have a server, don’t want to maintain a test site, don’t want to worry about hack attempts and security, and so on. 🙂

    Hi Paul,

    Thanks for replying,

I just wanted to clarify, what I meant by awards avatar/icons..
In addition to the widget which already exists, “Achievements Leaderboard”
I meant, for example ‘Paul’ is Nr. 1 on the list, so
    a) small avatars would be displayed in this widgets (since most users would have their custom avatars uploaded)
    b) when someone click on user profile to view it, OR as in bbpress/buddypress avatars are displayed, a small overlay in the corner over the avatar would be displayed with the icon indicated for example, “a Great Poster” or ‘Super Active user” etc..
so, me as a user of the plugin, would set up what icon (reward) should be shown for a “a Great Poster” etc..

if not possible to have the icon shown on top of the avatar, then maybe at least a word under the username in different color (like a badge) displayed..

not sure If I am making myself clear 🙂 But I hope you get the idea,

ah, and re demo site, sure I understand that you might not want to run it yourself.. but if you speak to guys at bbpress/buddypress? 🙂 maybe they would implement your achievement plugin on the site.. so not only everyone would see how it works.. but it may also benefit bbpress/buddypress communities.. and energize those communities, like it is supposed to help us, users of the plugin 🙂

of course, if that is not possible, maybe a few links to site which already use the plugin successfully :)?

    thanks
    Kris

Thanks for clarifying; I understand better what you mean now.

I’m not sure either the bbP or BP sites need an achievements system, but if any part of WordPress.org ever wants one, I hope they’ll consider my plugin 🙂
