    Hi There,

I’ve discovered a somewhat strange problem over the last few days. Up until last Monday I had no problems at all with Puclicize posting my newest Word Press post to my Facebook wall.

It posted the right title pic, the title and the first few sentences in a box. The headline was in german language (my blog is german)”hat einen Link via WordPress.com geteilt.”

Since Monday it posts just a sqaure part of the title pic plus the headline. The box is gone, but now the first few sentences are directly under the headline (badly formated I might add). The german sentence is gone, now it says “published an article on WordPress.com.”.

I guess everything started with updating to WordPress 3.7, but I’m not sure about it. I have erased and re-installed the Jetpack plugin, but nothing changed.

Any idea what can be done to get the old perfect layout?

    Thanks for your help.

    Cheers from Germany

  • Hi,

I noticed exactly the same problem with my blog and Facebook today. It could be that updating to WordPress 3.7 / 3.7.1 caused this, but then another thought crossed my mind:

Around the time I updated to WP 3.7 / 3.7.1 I also installed a cache plugin on my blog (Cachify). Do you have a similar plugin? It is a common issue that scheduled articles aren’t published anymore, because WP has no real cronjob – cronjobs have to be initiated by site-visits. When you are logged out and visitors only get to see the cached version of your blog, scheduled articles remain unpublished, since the cronjobs cannot be initiated.

Now, if you have an account on wordpress.com as well (and since you’re using Jetpack, you have), the connection between wordpress.com and your blog could trigger scheduled articles to be published – and maybe then the sharing routine with Jetpack gets messed up. I’m not sure how and why, but there might be a correlation.

    I Theolobias,

interesting thought, but I don’t have a cache plugin installed.

Okay, I think we have to leave this to the Jetpack team then.

Same problem. Do not like the new sharing format on FB wall via publicize. Don’t know whether this is a FB or a Jetpack issue. Don’t have that cache-ing plug in. It’s not that the articles don’t get published when scheduled, it’s that the format of the PUBLICIZE on FB wall is messed up. I just pulled my FB account off of publicize til the Jetpack support starts up again.
If I SHARE the post from my site, using the sharing button, the format is ok, like it used to be. So it is something with PUBLICIZE.

    Thanks all for the reports.

In the past few weeks, we’ve tried different things to force Facebook to display the right information along with your links (title, description, image, link), and attempt to fix issues where Facebook would not use Open graph Meta tags that were added to your posts’s source code.
We’re still working on this, and will release a new version of Jetpack really soon that should fix some of these issues. Until then, we’ve reverted the changes you saw last week until the release.
