only "half" works in my theme

I am using a premium theme, and i have changed all refferences to “groups” to “flocks”. the reason i did this is that my social network is for exotic bird owners. when creating a flock(group) i have the option to nest it into a parent, however the tree does not display anywhere on the site, rather sub groups display as flat everywhere, and there is no sub group tab.
