Hi Suzy,
Could you tell me exactly what you searched for and what listing(s) you expected? Also, a link to your site would help as well.
In many cases, the data are case sensitive (so entering “Hello” for the title and searching for “hello” may not work).
The tag selection can be changed by altering the type of the field under Directory Admin->Manage Form Fields. I would suggest using “Checkbox” as the field type for Tags if you want to select multiple ones.
Hello,
Thank you for responding so quickly. I am trying to set up a website where therapists can advertise their practice. The web address is http://etherapize.com/mywp/ (if you need admin access, please email me directly). I have set up various form fields within the Business Directory Plugin, some of which I specified to appear on the search form. The fields I requested to be in the search form are:
– eTherapist?
– City
– Zip
– State (of Licensure)
– Specialties
While all of these fields do appear on the “Advanced Search” form, when data is entered for any of these on the Advanced Search form, no results show. One example of a search that yielded no results was from selecting from “Y” or from the drop down menu for “eTherapist?” Two of the 3 dummy listings I have entered were “Y” for this field, so 2 dummy listings should have shown up when searched, but in fact none showed up.
Let me know if I can provide more detail. I appreciate your help.
Thanks,
Suzy
Also, it seems like I should be able to have more than one field association as “Post Tags,” but only one is allowed. Is this how it should work?
Re: Post tags. Yes, only ONE field is allowed there. That’s intentional.
Re: Search issues. I went to the site and I don’t see any searching enabled at all.
This link here: http://etherapize.com/mywp/find-a-therapist/ (the main directory page) has no Advanced Search link available, so I’m not sure where you are searching from or testing this. Can you please provide a screenshot of the advanced search data you are using AND a link to that page? It seems you have disabled it.
I apologize. One of our team members disabled it after I submitted the above post. It is enabled again, and the page you had gone to was correct: http://etherapize.com/mywp/find-a-therapist/.
The fields I specified to be in the search form are:
– eTherapist?
– City
– Zip
– State (of Licensure)
– Specialties
All of these fields do appear in Advanced Search form, but when I choose “Y,” for example, for “eTherapist?,” and then click the “Search” button, the search returns a message that says, “No listings found.”
Actually, when I try to search using any one of the five search fields, the results are “No listings found” 100% of the time.
Thank you for your input.
OK, I definitely agree that it seems broken but we’re going to need further access to determine why.
Can you please provide admin access to your site so we can dig into it further?
