• Hello!
I have a few questions regarding SEO on wordpress themes so I think its easiest to start off by explaining my problem and then ask my questions, so here goes:

Until the 10:th of june this year I had a theme (Mantra) and while having this theme the numbers of visitors I had increased from day to day until I reached a peak at around a thousand visitors. On the 10th of june I switched to a theme that I created by myself and it was on that day I peaked. The day after it dropped by almost 500 and then it went down to under 100. From that day it slowly increased to the ~200-250 I have now and this sucks.

I have two articles which were the main “attractors” before and I could see that they had like 400-500 visitors coming from google searches and now they are down to barely 10/day.

So, since I am the most stubborn dude alive I really want to solve this shit without paying someone else to do it for me.

    My questions:

    • Is this a common thing while switching themes?</li
    • Does not having a working “search” on the page make a difference?
    • The articles were before showed in the navmenu where you could navigate and see all articles in a dropdown menu. Now I have relevant articles showned by clicking a link that shows an excerpt of the articles in that category(hard to explain) so there is no actuall way to navigate to the article while staying on the homepage. Does this make a difference?

I first reasoned that this probably was due to the fact that my whole website now had to reindex or something and that it would bounce back quick. But since it has been almost five months soon I guess that more time wont change that much.

I also changed a few links in the beginning and at first I believed that this was the problem. However, I´ve changed them back but that did not do anything at all.

Any help is appreciated, I probably have more info that needs to be written down to help me but this is all I can think of right now. If you need to take a look at my site its on – http://linusgrudd.se.

    Thanks in advance!

No, it’s not, check if you kept the same urls to your articles. Did you change your permalink structure?

Yes, it can cause some issues because it sounds that doing so changed your urls (to those pages that were previously available from the main menu. So, you may want to redirect to the same urls.

Did you establish prior to switching themes whether your visitors were 100% organic (from search engines)?
