wp-mail and wordpress 2.5

    using wordpress 2.5, i would like to blog via my mobile phone (sidekick, sending emails with image attachments to my blogpost email on a gmail server)

    i was doing this via POSTIE, but with WP2.5’s new functionality of media uploads and everything, i am looking for a solution to do this so that the files i attach to the email are saved and thumbnailed with all of my usual images

    has anyone does this?

    I’d like to know the answer to this, but unfortunately it doesn’t look so good.

    Blog by email in the WP Codex currently says that image attachments are broken in 2.5, and we will be waiting until 2.6 for this to work.

    Looks like the relevant bug is #4965.

    The milestone for #4965 has been changed from 2.6 to 2.9.

    Does anyone know if it’s ever going to really be fixed? Is there a workaround?

    I’d really like to be able to post an image from my phone, but emailing it seems to be the only way to get it there. And then it gets stripped off leaving me with a blank and useless post.

    There must be some alternative solution for this. Attach files are not rocket science.
