Load slides as background images

I found this post, that seems to provide a solution, but was wondering if I could get help understanding where this custom loop is placed, and if this would work for us.

We are trying to use Meteor slides to generate multiple slides shows.
The images need to load as a background image to a specified div.
Each slide show will display inside the same div, but on different pages of the site.
