• Hi i am totally new to wordpress, and have started to construct our blog, i have come stuck already with managing categories
i have created main categories and sub categories.
By default the sub categories appear on the menu as soon as a post is made in them.
I only want the main categories to appear at 1st level and when the user clicks on the main category, the sub categories then appear.

Please bear in mind with your reply my knowledge is limited so a clear response would be appreciated

    can anyone help please

    thanks shane

Please someone replay on this, I really need a plugin that works, I have tried many with no luck, I’m willing to pay for it too..

    Thanks allot in advance

I’ve actually searched for something like that myself. In 2.3.3 I can make subcategories and the admin panel makes a nice tree which looks very nice, but the sidebar widget just puts the subcategories alphabetically among the rest. What Shane is looking for would be even nicer than the ‘admin tree’, but I haven’t found a plugin or widget that does that either. Tips would be very welcome indeed!

there is a plugin called enhanced categories that does the job, but it never worked for me and the writer is not responding to my comments on his website.. 🙁

I don’t even mind the plugin that this guy uses

where you put the mouse on his category and it displays the subcategory
