Allow for sorting/filter of plugin searches
-
When searching for plugins in a WP site (or in the WordPress.org repository, for that matter) a sort/filter systems seems to be sorely missing.
If I am searching for plugins via the plugin installer on a wp site, there should be a way to:- Filter out results based on “Requires WordPress Version:” data (so I can filter out those not compatible with my current installation version).
- Filter out results based on “Compatible up to:” data (so I can filter out those not compatible with my current installation version).
- Filter and/or sort based on date plugin was last updated
- Sort based on the “Downloaded:” (number of times) data
I also recommend that we have the option to display these three fields in the search results, in the same way we have the option to display “Version,” “Rating,” and “Description”.
From my point of view, I suggest these features be implemented in WordPress plugin install (most important, from my perspective), but also in the wordpress.org plugin repository.
