Thanks you for this great theme, but this theme has a big problem with Google pagespeed.
As you know, currently, almost all webmasters insert featured image at their posts, but this theme, still uses a scaled version of images on home page and it reduces the Google pagespeed a lot. It reduces more than 40% !!
The problem is : Serve scaled images
How is it possible to show featured image on home page instead of Serving scaled images?

[Moderator Note: No bumping, thank you.]

Can you please provide a link to your website where you’re experiencing the scaled image problems? Thanks!

I have uninstalled it. But i can explain it, Expound theme shows small image size in the home page. It doesn’t make small images. For example it shows a 800×600 pixel image to 300×200 and its not search engine friendly. It was so good if it made the i.e. 300×200 images for showing them without showing a small version of big images.

That doesn’t really explain it, which is why I was asking for a link 🙂 Expound has various registered image sizes for the thumbnail display – homepage large, archives thumbs and related posts thumbs. If WordPress is setup correctly (uses the gd image library or ImageMagick) then thumbs are cropped/resized on upload. For existing media you can use the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin.

That said, if looked at from a small screen of a mobile device or a tabled, Expound will automatically scale all existing images to fit the smaller screens so that you don’t have to scroll left and right, only up and down. If that’s the “problem” you’re referring to, then you can just set a minimum width if you like and make it non-responsive.

If, however, you’re uploading an 800×600 image and WordPress is not resizing and cropping it into the various registered image sizes, then there’s something wrong with your setup, happy to help you figure it out if you can provide a link 🙂
