If you need the attention of moderators tag the thread with “modlook” (I’ve already done it for you). Someone should resolve this for you.

Removed the advert. It’s okay to not like a plugin, but at the same time pimping another is less okay.

BTW – Remember that YOUR behavior in the forums will impact your business more than anyone else’s negative review, so be considerate of that when you reply to those things. The worse you act, the worse you look etc etc πŸ™‚

    Hi Andrew and Mika,

We add chat widget to over than 270,000 websites, among them are
    F5.com, Sony Music and Wix.

In the past 6 months we had 3 reviews that I would appreciate to be deleted.
1 – One is dealing with pricing, which say too expensive user:fxsuccess
2 – One is user that deleted the chat after one day user: cesarlevys
3 – One has a loading issue of our website, not the software. user:JND_3004

    Thank you in advance
    Eyal

I’m sorry but we do not generally delete reviews on wordpress.org – for a number of reasons. One of these is the fact that, due to technical issues, the star rating is not removed when a review is deleted. This would leave you with low star ratings and no explanations as to why or any way to counter the low rating.

We feel that it is far better if you respond to these reviews in a professional manner – pointing out the shortcomings of the review, if necessary. That way, future readers will be able to make an informed judgement as to whether these low ratings were deserved. With the right responses from you, this should place your plugin in a far better light. πŸ™‚

    Hi Esmi

Thank you for your reply: Since we have very little reviews, this deletion is significant for us.

In addition, please consider this next points
1 – another forum moderator asked the user to change his review (which he did not). This proves that this remark should be dealt with.
2 – Before (see above) reviews were deleted. As it is almost as before, I urge you to help us with that issue.

That doesn’t prove the post should be deleted.

So has another competitor advertised their plugin while giving yours a bad review? That’s why it was deleted.

    Thank Andrew,

The reviews are clearly not relevant (hope we agree on that) not sure who wrote it or why. When someone writes in his review that it is expensive, what are we expected to reply on that?

Leaving it like that gives the wrong impression on the plugin quality.
I guess this is not the intention of this distinguished forum.

Yes this is a problem that all plugin authors face on WordPress.org, and they deal with it by leaving good responses to the reviews. Don’t worry too much, the community are clever enough to check out the reason why people gave 1 star reviews and can come to their own conclusion whether it was justified.

With this review in particular: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/very-high-price-stay-away?replies=2#post – If it was clear that the review was saying that your commercial plugin is too expensive then that would probably be deleted, but note that the way the review system works means that you’ll still have a 1 star review. The review will just have no explanation.

Edit: Actually it is apparent that that review was regarding the commercial plugin

So can you see the best thing to do would be to leave a comment explaining how wrong the review is through a logical argument instead of deleting the review?

We could delete that review, but we’re trying to tell you that it’ll look worse on your plugin because:
The review system on WordPress.org will not let us delete a star rating, but only the explanation of the star rating.
