Support » Fixing WordPress » Can't change default thumbnail size, media settings page does nothing

    Hi,

I’m working on a Woocommerce-based ecommerce site at the moment (based on the Mystile theme) and the thumbnails on my shop page dynamically resize according to viewport size. Because Woocommerce pulls these images in the WordPress ‘thumbnail’ size (which is 150px), at larger screen sizes they are all blurry.

I would like to change the maximum thumbnail size to a large number to avoid this, but changing the thumbnail size in Settings > Media doesn’t do anything. I am baffled. Surely this is exactly what the thumbnail size setting is for, so why doesn’t it work?!

I would like to avoid having to hack around with the Woocommerce plugin if at all possible – the plugin will need to be updated by someone else when new versions of it come out and I don’t want to have to manually re-add functions to it each time that happens.

    Can anyone suggest anything?

  • Try editing your product image sizes in WooCommerce –> Settings –> Catalog –> Image Options.

Oh god I feel fantastically stupid. Did not realise you have to edit them in both.

I’m an idiot. You are excellent. Thank you.
