  • At the moment that is not possible, however I’m currently planning to research a possible solution to be included within the next version. I’ve gotten a couple of requests for this feature.

This feature has now been added to version 2.5 which will release in beta tonight. You can try the beta version if you want but I think there will be a proper release later this week.

This is what I’ve been waiting for!
How exactly can you set up the tag cloud so that the tags only link to posts within the category?

Check the setting “Add filter to links” at the bottom of the first tab in the widget settings.

    Hi,
Is there a shortcode for the filter so that this can be used in page content?
    Thanks,
    Josh

    Hi Hosh, try

    [utcw post_term=(category_id) post_term_query_var=1]

    Hope this helps 🙂

I tried to use this and it does not seem to work for me. This is my site and here is an example page:
    http://sceneandheard.com/instagramming-all-the-way-to-the-emergency-room-reducing-childhood-obesity-book-review/magazine/reviews-type/books

The way I want it to work is this: I have particular categories set up (e.g. book reviews, film reviews) and then there are tags that I use with each one (e.g. comedy, documentary with film reviews; research, crime/mystery with book reviews). It seems from this discussion there is a way to ONLY show tags associated with a particular category through this widget. But I have been unable to do so. I ticked the box “Add filter to links” but it is not working for me.

Can you please advise how I might do this in specific steps? Are there other settings I need to have that I do not?

    thanks

I’m not quite sure what you’re looking for, maybe the option “post term filter” in the data tab could solve this for you?

    POST TERM FILTER ISSUE

    Hi Rickard,

I am having a similar problem. Using WordPress 2011 v1.5 with a child theme. The plugin doesn’t seem to accept any >Post Terms (separated by commas and no spaces) when placed and saved, they vanish! The same thing happens when I paste > Tags under > Terms > Selection type – they also vanish.

The result is each post has the same 3 category items + blog page link that is all that shows, no most popular tags or any other content.

    Q. How can I add tags that I choose to be shown? See website here: http://worksofbart.com/works-of-bart-blog/

Thanks for any help and the great plugin by the way!
