    Hello,
I’m using your awesome Events plugin for one of my websites and everything works great; however, when you check the box to integrate the upcoming events with the news posts, it shows the “published” date for the event in the news feed instead of the actual event date, which could confuse people when the actual event is.

Is there something I can do to fix this?

  • Hi Brisus,

    Glad you’re liking it!

So for this issue you’d need to customize your main blog loop to workaround this – what it’s doing right now is essentially “correct” and isn’t a bug as such.

The basic idea would be to test within each cycle of the loop to see if the post is actually an event and then echo the event start date (or whatever information you want to display in these cases) in place of the post date.

Those resources could be useful here if you haven’t done much customization work relating to The Events Calendar before – though note in this case you’d primarily be making changes or overriding the behaviour of your theme.

    Thanks for contacting us!

    Hi there.

I wouldn’t want to change the way things are currently working and mess it up since I’m not a fluent programmer, so I just disabled it from the news pages. I’ll just leave it as it is for now (we have a page and wiget that shows events, so it should be fine).

    Thank you!

    Sounds good – thanks!
