Have shortcode embeds/videos only show on Single post view?

Is there a way, either through custom functions code, or plugin whereby when selected I can get short code embeded content to only show on single post view? Just there is some instances where I just want my post image on the main page, then when on single post view have that replaced, for example, with a youtube video.

I just can’t seem to find a way to have it so that on certain posts to specify whether or not show certain content on single post view?! If anybody can help on the issue, if would be of great help!!
