  • Yes kindly place the extracted wordpress files via ftp and set it up on existing database using other table than wp_

because you don’t have access to cpanel i am thinking you don’t have database access as well.

Or else if you have access create a new database and then go through wordpress installation process of creating wp-config.php file.

You have to have access to cpanel to create a database if you do not then may be your host can help and create one and give database details that you need to install wordpress.

SKT – Sorry i am in abit over my head, your right i dont have access to create a new database. I have uploaded files via ftp, how can i set it up on an existing database other than wp_ ? Thanks in advance!

    lauraexploreruk,

As govpatel noted, contact your host to set up the database if you do not have access to do so yourself. Your host can provide you with the info you need (database username and password) to connect WordPress to the database.

If you have existing database and you have your database details then all you need to do is go your url after you have upload your wordpress files and folders and you will option to change wp_ to what ever you want when you creating a wp-config.php file.
