Header not showing up

I am trying to upload a custom header. For some reason it’s not working. It’s a PNG file – 960 x 198 pixels exactly. I upload the file in the custom header section, it shows in the preview, when I click save changes I get a message saying “Header updated. Visit your site to see how it looks.” When I go to the site, there is no header. What am I doing wrong??
