Removing comment box from home page

    Hi
    I’m just starting to build my first WordPress site and it seems fairly straightforward but I have found one hitch. I want to build a static front page but can’t see a way to remove the ‘leave a reply’ and comment box. I’ve looked in appearance / themes / customize / static front page but that doesn’t seem to have an option to remove them.
    I’m using the 2012 theme at the moment.

    Under Settings > Discussion – uncheck “Allow people to post comments on new articles.”

    For specific individual pages/posts, you can also disallow comments by clicking on Quick Edit – uncheck the “Allow Comments” box.
