• Hi there folks,

I’m using the AdventurePlus theme for a new dev site.. one of the issues I’m having difficulty solving is that when scrolling down, the page content overlaps with the top nav bar, and as both have transparent backgrounds the effect isn’t good. Is there a way to have the content either scroll *under* the nav bar and *disappear* (not be visible behind the transparent nav bar), or have the nav bar scroll with the rest of the page?

    This is the site: http://www.picaproductions.net/MRAdev

Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions!

  • You should contact the theme developer. http://schwarttzy.com/contact-me/

The theme on his home page works just like yours but he doesn’t have transparent backgrounds.

Yes, I have tried to contact him repeatedly, but he is not responding to emails or comments on his webpage :/

    Try Twitter Eric Schwarz @schwarttzy

We can’t provide support for themes that were acquired outside of wordpress.org There is no way for us to know how the theme works.

Um, okay.. I understand that. I’m not really asking for “theme” support. Just because I mention the name of the theme does not mean theme support.

I’m wondering if anyone out there has any coding suggestions that could potentially address an issue like this. Is that not what these forums are for? To get ideas/suggestions for issues and help solving problems?

Problems with WordPress not with themes that were not acquired here. You paid for a theme and with that support. We don’t want to get between the developer and his clients.

Sometimes there are folks here that will help if it is a css issue or if they have the same theme. I will add the theme name to key words.

And mentioning the name was not a “mistake” as we often look at the source code for the theme name.

Yeah, use a non-transparent background image or colour on the menu so that you can’t see your content behind it as you scroll.

Again, I’m looking for coding solutions.. using a non-transparent image in the header is not what the client wants.

Is there another forum on this site that would be more appropriate for questions like these, or do I just need to find another forum for coding troubleshooting/suggestions that are not explicitly WordPress related? I thought it appropriate to look for insights here, as WordPress sites are obviously a little different than typical traditionally coded sites, and as such, I was seeking suggestions from folks specifically experienced with WordPress.

Disappointing to just be directed away from here.

For CSS, you could try: http://csscreator.com

CSS is no different in WP.

CSSCreator is a good site for discussing CSS queries: http://csscreator.com/forum

I haven’t tried other CSS forums.

    Also, regarding

We don’t want to get between the developer and his clients.

.. just by paying for or installing a particular theme I wouldn’t think would necessarily imply that I was obligated to only seek assistance from the theme creator. I’ve created a child theme and am customizing, so adhering to exactly what the original theme creator had done is not really my intention, but rather his theme was a starting point.

Can’t custom theme folks find support or suggestions here? Where else can they find advice if not here?

Forgive me, but I’m just a little confused I guess..

We can help with front-end issues like suggesting CSS and JavaScript code, since all we need is a link to your site.

The policy at WordPress.org is not to support commercial products, but the policy won’t stop people from helping out if they want to. It’s only if a theme violates or doesn’t use the GPL license that support is usually terminated here.

I would still recommend using the CSS forum suggested by WPyogi and I to discuss CSS queries, as that forum is dedicated to those subjects rather than WordPress in general.

I see, well I appreciate the suggestions. Thank you.

Hey there, I never got any emails from you so it makes it hard to contact me. Any way hit me up by email which is my username at gmail.com
