• I’m in the process of moving my blog to its own server. I’ve been using Typepad for a year now, and wanted to know if it’s possible to import my exported Typepad posts, etc., into WordPress.
Has anyone done this successfully? If so, how?

  • It’s the same way as you would for Movable Type! It works like a dream!! Go to the admin folder in your Main Index, and it should show you how to import your entries from typepad.

I did the exact same thing, and it WORKED!!

I’ve tried to following the Codex directions but they are not as clear to newbie like myself. This line:

    “2. On line number 2 of import-mt.php, find define(‘MTEXPORT’, ); and change that to define(‘MTEXPORT’, ‘import.txt’); ”

is confusing considering the fact that I cannot not find that line to make the changes in the first place. The only place it exists for me in is the instruction itself. Not very helpful. Any thoughts.
