Proposals for improvements of WP

WP seems to be mainly aimed at personal blogs. Comments are very important, but posts from other than the blog owner are not emphasised. In the general setting you can set a number of parameters about comments, but nothing about posts. For example “Mail me when someone make a comment” is there, but there are no “Mail me when someone submits a post”. Why?

I’m currently building av web site for a small organisation and we would like members to post – without going into the administrator’s panel.
After a lot of work I created a solution that worked for us by a combination of Contact Form 7 and Postie plus some code writing taken from the Codex. I also used Peter’s Login Redirect to take people away from adnin.panel. But why isn’t it there right from the beginning?
I realise that a web site like ours is not the most frequent but is it really quite unique…. or?

To improve and broaden WP, i propose the following to next up grade version:

1. POST BY EMAIL.
Make it possible – and easy – for anyone to post via email. Create a form like Contact Form 7, but better. Create a sector of settings like those in Postie. Important is to give room for a least two mail addresses (one to the “secret mail address” and one to the administrator). Also important to allow different posting possibilities (like Publish, Pending, etc).
2. POST FROM LOGGED IN PERSONS
It should be possible to create a permission level called “post from outside” or similar with permission to write posts, but nothing else and not giving these writers admission to the administrator’s panel at all.
3. KEEP PERSONS WITH LOWEST PERMISSION LEVELS AWAY FROM THE ADMIN PANEL
Writers with lowest permission status should not be directed to the administration panel at all. It just confuses them. There should be a choice for the administrator to direct them to any page.
4. NOTIFICATIONS ABOUT POSTS IN THE WORDPRESS APP
In the WP app for smart phones there are no notifications for new posts coming in. Please add that! If I, as administrator, got a notification about a new post, I could publish it on the fly.
