  • Hi,

Did you create that widget in https://polldaddy.com/widgets/ ? The embedded text isn’t translated according to the language pack on Polldaddy.com?

You can’t modify the text of the widget as it’s loaded from a remote server and there aren’t any parameters that allow that customisation. You could display that category above the widget embed code perhaps?

Hello, thank you for your answer.

We are talking about the rating widget “top rated” for the sidebar.

1- No, I didn’t create it on the Polldaddy website, the widget was provided with the plugin.
Your link is for create a poll-widget, but I talk about the ratings widget “top rated”. I have edited the texts both in the settings of the plugin in MY dashboard, and on the Polldaddy website.
Result : texts still in english 🙁

2- we go on talink about the “top rated” widget, is it also loaded from remote server ? I would like to -not only- show the top-rated post title, but also display the category it is from

Thanks for clarifying that. The code you’re looking for is in polldaddy-org.php, look for “PD_Top_Rated” in there.

The list of top rated posts are taken from Polldaddy.com and use Javascript so it’s impossible for it to show the category of each post. BUT, if you have “filter by category” enabled in the widget I can add the category name above the list of posts to make it clear that it’s the top posts in the current category.

I’m not 100% sure why the text of the rating widget isn’t translated. I think it may be because it’s loaded from a generic file called rating-top.js that doesn’t support translation. The data itself is then fetched from the Polldaddy server.

    Thank you for your answer

Can you make something clear ?

First, you tell me that it can be helpful to look into polldaddy-org.php, look for “PD_Top_Rated” in there.

And, you tell me that the widget is loaded from the server, then I can’t change anything. I am not sure to have all clear in mind :-/

And YES, I chose “filter by category”.

You can edit polldaddy-org.php and add the category there. You asked for a file to modify. Unfortunately you’re right, you can’t change the file on Polldaddy.com
