  • In general the plugin seems to work. You need to have your AWS key and secret key as well as the Amazon affiliate ID ready to enable it.

    What you then get is a search form. Here you can select the US and the Canadian store. Next, you need to select a category by selecting it from a list control. Your selection then needs to be manually confirmed – why this can’t be done automatically, remains a mystery to me.

    For which reason ever, already the category did not work for me – I had to wait several minutes after confirming with the “Select” button, then the category list disappeared and got replaced by the label “( End of Category List )”.

    Using a centered layout, even in the small mode the plugin was overlapping with my right navigation bar.

    To me it seems, this plugin is not useable at all and does not deserve the high rating it already got.

    We’re sorry you had difficulties…

    First off however…

    It is of course required that you enter your Amazon login info. You would not be credited with any sales without it. This info is stored on your site only and only passed to Amazon to credit your Amazon account.

    The auto-update feature you said you did not understand was not implemented to avoid unnecessary communications with Amazon and will be added as an option in a future release should we get sufficient requests.

    As for your layout issues…

    It is not possible to guarantee proper layout with every Theme. Our plugins are tested with most of the main Themes and not one is released that has any difficulties as you described. Such layout difficulties do not occur with any of our verified Themes nor has any other user ever mentioned such a problem to us.

    Also please note that a “Normal” and “Wide” selection has been included to attempt to make the plugin even more compatible with all Themes wherever possible.

    As for the speed issue that is specific to your domain and/or internet connection and has nothing to do at all with our software. Listing updates are sent to Amazon and the plugin simply waits for the information to be returned. Any and all such delays are related to your sites communications with Amazon and not an issue of the plugin.

    As for the limitations with the Basic (Non Purchased) version: That’s how we pay our bills and keep our doors open (smile). The one time fee is very low and the package is designed to help you, the site owner, make an ongoing profit.
