I currently have a website built on WordPress and I don’t like my current theme or anything about my current website. I have found a theme that I really like and am planning to completely start over. My question here is, how do I start over? How do I start from scratch and integrate a new theme and get rid of my old theme? Is it possible to not have to have to start from scratch and just integrate a new theme or do you have to start from scratch when integrating a new theme?

Step by step on how to do this would be fantastic!

  • Just activate the new theme. Settings/options are per theme so you should have pretty much just your content on the new theme.

    Go to yourwebsite.com/wp-admin/themes.php
and find your theme and click the activate link.

So, all I have to do is deactivate the current them and then install the new theme? How do I completely delete all of the old themes?

You can click on delete if you want to delete them, but they won’t be affecting your site if they are not active. Also be sure that you don’t delete the current default theme (twentythirteen) as you need to always have it available for various troubleshooting purposes.

Thank you for answering! Also, I have been getting a TON of spam on my current website. How can I completely delete the comment box? My website isn’t a website that needs a comment box anyways.

You can turn comments off under Settings > Discussion

After I install the new theme, how can I re-size my logo and font? I have tried to re-size the logo and font before many times but it just will not re-size. The theme I will be using is the Camp theme by ThemeForest and my logo is pretty big and so is my font so I’m not sure if it will fit on the Camp theme or not or how to re-size it to fit it on the Camp theme.

I’m sorry but as you are using a commercial theme, you need to seek support from the theme’s developer/vendor. We do not support commercial products here.
    Try http://themeforest.net/user/ProgressionStudios

have you tried pixlr.com to re-size your images – that is my quick and easy go-to for image resizing…..
