• Since the latest update, the facebook widget now shows as a completely black or white box, depending on what colours I choose.

I have tried deleting the box, and also using a different facebook page and the same thing happens. I initially thought it was the new Widget visibility add on, and have disabled that (mainly because I already have a far superior one installed anyway) but it didn’t make any difference.

http://radio.shelliescards.info/ the black box to the right (below Today’s Schedule) is the Facebook widget I am leaving it on so you can see it, but would like to remove it rather than have it there, so can you let me know once you have seen what I mean, so I can remove it temporarily

On the subject of the visability add on, I use WordPress and a CMS system rather than a blog, and this add on makes it too much work to add rules for all the pages I would want it to appear – The one I already use just has tick boxes which is much easier and quicker

    Hi there,

I don’t quite follow what the issue is. I do see the Facebook box on your site, and I see that is has a black background because you are currently using the Dark color scheme for the box. Have you tried switching to the Light colour scheme in the widget’s settings for the Like box?

If that’s not the issue, then you can try describing in detail what you are seeing versus what you expect to see?

As for the Widget Visibility, thanks for the feedback, I’ll pass it along to the developers!

When I change to the light colour scheme I get a white coloured box.

What I expect to see, and what I could see before the latest update, is the wall feed from my facebook page.

That’s what I see, but you don’t seem to be using the Jetpack widget for the Like box:

The screen shot is what I used to be able to get.

The widget I am using is called “Facebook Like Box (Jetpack)” if this one is not supposed to be used with Jetapck then what is ?

The screenshot is what I see right now, so I’m not sure what the issue for you is, then. Can you show me a screenshot of what you see?

As for it being Jetpack, I was mistaken, it is the Jetpack Facebook Like Box.

    that is what I see.

I have also just checked and it seems to be only the browser I am using that cannot see the Facebook posts. I use Comodo Dragon Browser, which is based on Google chrome, but works faster. The strange thing is the facebook widget is working in google chrome, and also firefox.

This widget definitely used to work in Comodo Dragon, so I cant see how its anything to do with the browser that would affect it

    Hi there,

I can’t verify as there doesn’t seem to be an OSX version of that browser. However, everything that is in the Facebook Like Box is loaded in an iframe from Facebook, so maybe check your security settings to see if loading things from an iframe is allowed? Maybe there are some other security settings that are impacting the Like Box. Can you check to see if you see the Like Box as well as on my test site at http://reviewmysite.ca ? If you still have the issue even after trying various security settings in the browser, feel free to file a ticket with screenshots here:

    http://plugins.trac.wordpress.org/newticket?component=jetpack

Have a look at http://jetpack.me/contribute/#bugs for info on how to file a good bug report.

    Thanks!

No I cannot see the like box on that site, and the problem is not iframe related as other parts of my site use iframes and work perfect. As I said in the original post, it used to work perfectly before the latest update, and I have not changed any security setting so there is nothing wrong, or that needs changing, with my setup. I just tried reducing the security just to see if it would make a difference, and it didn’t – still the same result

I will have to submit a new ticket.
