• I fixed my first slider image, but the second image is still cropped, it’s just a thin sliver of the image in the middle of the slide. I used the dimensions 1170×780. original image size:5184×3456

*When I unchecked the box under images>auto scale images on zoom, that seemed to help with the first image but not the 2nd.

    How do I fix this?

    Thank you! 🙂

  • The images need to be 1170 x 500 to work properly and consistently.

But when I enter either 1170 or 500 under “scale image” the number automatically changes. For instance, when I enter, 1170, it automatically shows : 1170×780
    and when I type _____x 500 it shows : 750×500

    What do I do?

    Hi,

I have the same issue – I know the size should be 1170 * 500 but no matter what I do my images always come out too large for my site or zoomed in where you can’t see them. I’ve tried in wordpress to resize and software outside of it.

Please help — all advice is appreciated.

@liverpool4evr – link to your site?

(But as an avid Villa fan then my support may not be the best 😉

Could you resize in a photo editor package and re-upload?

    Morning!

    Here’s my site I’m working on : http://www.lisaumbelina.com/

I’ve tried changing the sizes and cropping etc before uploading. I’ve deleted all media images before uploading new ones!

It’s been about as frustrating as Liverpool in the transfer market 🙂

@liverpool4evr, not sure you’re referring to the Slider image as you only have 1 loaded?

I only have one image out there for right now – as the other images were zoomed in. I’ll add another 2 more for you to see. You can check it right now.

The 3rd image is only 800x500px, the other 2 are 1200×500?

I’ve resized all images again – made a new slider for 2 images and its 1170 * 500 and you can see they remove her hands and feet etc! You can see the actual images in the gallery of what I’m trying to use.

    Any further advice?! 🙂

The bottom of the slider gets cropped in order to maintain the aspect ratio properly on all devices (otherwise the image would have to get stretched, which is much worse). Widen/narrow your browser window to see the effect.

I understand that – but why is it cropping off my pictures and zooming them in and not leaving them as they are when they are sized to 1170 * 500?

I finally got this to work but the problem was the sizing of the images.
For anyone else doing this, here’s how I solved it.

Using Paint – Open the Image.
Then Select Resize on the Menu
Then Check Pixels and Uncheck Maintain Aspect Ratio (by doing this you can key in the exact numbers of 1170 * 500) other wise the numbers change.
Save the image, upload and it works!

Thanks to everyone who replied 🙂
