    Hi,

Currently I’m using the Pagebar plugin for pagination of my category pages. The permalink structure is just /%postname%/. The problem arises when I try to go to the 2nd page of any category, such as this: example.com/category/finance/page/2/. This just gives me a 404 error.

I did tried disabling the plugin, but that didn’t help. I did notice though, that if I changed the permalink structure back to the default, it would work. For example: example.com/?cat=1&paged=10 would load the 10th page just fine.

I did read through the “Paged Navigation Doesn’t Work” part of http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks, and I tried the solution given but that didn’t work either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

  • Use this instead: go to dashboard – options – permalinks than type this /%category%/%postname%/

into the custome structure field and don’t forget to save options. This is best for SEO anyway.

Thanks thewritersmanifesto for the suggestion. I just tried it and it didn’t solve my problem, though. 🙁
