Just to help in case you’d like to troubleshoot, here was our setup when the issue occured:
- WordPress 3.6
- Genesis 2.0
- Events Manager (updating to 5.5)
- Events Manager Pro 2.3.7
The warnings appeared immediately after updating from our old Events Manager (regular, not pro) plugin to your latest release (5.5). I repeatedly disabled all other plugins but to no avail. I also tried disabling the plugin and resetting permalinks (the errors disappear when permalinks are set to default, however we need to use permalinks) but whenever I reactived Events Manager the warnings reappeared.
The only thing I could get to work was what I mentioned above about resaving permalinks in Events Manager, which leads me to believe there’s some issue occurring on update. Just wanted to give ya’ll, the developers, a heads up.

Hi Marcus, I have a similar problem
I use WordPress 3.6. with Events Manager 5.5.1 nonpro
if I change the permalink in WordPress from standard to another option, I receive lots of errors like this even if I deactivate all other plugins:
Warning: preg_match() [function.preg-match]: Unknown modifier '/' in /home/.sites/97/site1595/web/servus/wp-includes/class-wp.php on line 204
Without ‘Events Manager’ the permalinks are working fine.
Every time I try to change the permalink-structure I got the same error.
any ideas?
Tried various ways and I can’t reproduce this. If one of you could give me access to your site so I can see your settings page, that’d be helpful, maybe we can reproduce this.

The only wierd thing i see between both errors is that they’re showing different lines… maybe worth pasting that specific line in question.

I’ve installed WordPress from the ground in another folder as an exact copy of the one with the troubles but I couldn’t reproduce the error again, maybe because I’ve changed the permalinks before I installed the Event Manager plugin.
I think it’s easier to delete the buggy website and go further with the new clean one.
I`ve learned to not fiddle around with permalinks at a finished website.
Now the headache is gone and your great plugin works very well!
