Will your plugin work with SearchWP?

    Hi,
    I’m trying to find a search solution that will search a WordPress site, search the content of PDFs, and search forums. SearchWP (searchwp.com) will search everything except bbPress forums — and overwrites the WordPress default search. Would your search plug-in conflict with that, or does it operate separately? I’m hoping the latter, so I could use your plug-in on the forums and SearchWP on everything else. Thanks!

    Hi there!

    Thanks for your feedback!

    My plugin only brings a search form to a widget – the very same as the default search widget that comes with bbPress itself — my plugin just has more options for customizing the widget. That’s the main difference.

    The underlying search functionality is just core bbPress and comes directly from bbPress itself. Any additions to this core feature or restrictions or whatsoever should happen directly with tweaking bbPress via hooks and filters in my opinion.

    Maybe you could request adding bbPress support from the SearchWP developer? And/Or request on how to tweak the very search core feature of bbPress? (at http://bbpress.org/forums/ )

    Hi Dave,

    Thanks so much for replying. The SearchWP folks say they are working on adding bbPress to their search function, so hopefully that will happen soon. Thanks again for your help!
