Support » Themes and Templates » 2 Category Posts – Grouping in archive view

  • Hi there,

I have a blog site using the iFeature Pro theme and was hoping some kind soul could assist with a desired feature (not critical).

In essence, I have 3000+ blog posts that have all been assigned to two categories.

    The two categories are 1) Issue (e.g June 2013) & 2) Topic (e.g Crime)

Ideally, I would like it so that when a user clicks the menu item linking to the category “June 2013” to have the posts grouped together, in order, by their #2 category (Topic).

The issue isn’t as relevant for the Topic view, as they are sorted in chronological order.

The upshot of all of this is that I am replicating a magazine and want to stay as true to the print version in the “Issue” view as possible.

Any help/ guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Just to add, as a compromise, if there was any way to sort the posts within the category archive view by the other category, that would work for me.

For example for the June 2013 category archive view, I could manually set it so that the post order is defined by a set category order – based on the “Topic” category.

    Many thanks in advance.
