Domain change

    I have a ecommerce site up and running with Intuit. I own two domains but am only using one pointing to that site. I want to build a WordPress ecommerce using Woothemes and have Hostgator as host. My plan is to set up account and build site with second domain untill finished while my current site is still running, then have my main domain point to new site as primary domain..is that possable without any glitch?..I know changing DNS can take 24hrs but any other problems?

    Check with your domain host and see if the have an option to lower your Time To Live (TTL) to 5 minutes. This will allow DNS propagation to start 5 minutes after the change instead of 24 hours. Be sure to change the TTL at least 24 hours BEFORE you want to switch the domain.

    Be sure to update your domain in the WordPress Admin Panel, in the Settings>General section when you’re ready to make the change.
