    Hi majorthomas,

About that, the problem is I only know english and spanish. Other translations such as french have been submitted by other users, so unless someone helps keep the texts up-to-date there’s nothing much I can do.

If you are willing to help update the french translations, please refer to the FAQ section.

    Hi Hector,
I have problems with translation too. I am using Poedit for translating and before this update everything was fine. But now with version 2.3.6 the code in wordpress-popular-posts.php is displaced and .po file can not locate the words correctly.

I have tried to change the code by myself, but now you are using new function for words view and views in stats: _(‘1 view’, ‘%s views’, intval($pageviews), ‘wordpress-popular-posts’),

As far as I understood from Google this part of the code should start with __(‘message’)or _e(‘message’). In the previous version of WPP you was using __(‘view’, ‘wordpress-popular-posts’) and everything was good. But now with those changes it is not possible to translate the words view and comments.

Ah, sorry about that. I Moved the .po files to the lang folder and forgot updating the paths, hence why you’re having issues with Poedit. Apologies for that, will fix it on the next update – a quick workaround until then: move the .po file(s) you wish to update back to the main folder (wordpress-popular-posts) and Poedit will be able to detect the translation strings again. Make changes, save, and put the .po/.mo file(s) back to the lang folder.

Same here it doesn`t count the translation in .po/.mo files for views and comments words. For other words like author or category is ok. What to do so they can be translated?

It is the same for me.

All the French translations perfectly work, except for “comments” (which should be “commentaires”), “views” (“vues”) and “under” (should be “dans”).

I am looking forward your update 🙂

I haven’t forgotten about this, guys. I’ll be working on this next weekend, probably on Saturday. Will keep you posted.
