How to add to existing image gallery

    It’s been a while since I’ve had to update our self-hosted site, so now I can’t remember how to add an image to an existing image gallery. When I go in to edit the gallery, I don’t see any buttons or options for adding another image, just ways to edit what is already there. I Googled to find tutorials on it, but everything I’ve found shows newer versions of WordPress that don’t look at all similar to what I’ve got.
    Do I have to delete the image gallery and recreate it with the new image, or is there a way to add the image that I’m not seeing? Or do I have to do it by messing with the HTML?
