I’ve installed the ShareThis plugin on a WordPress site and have it properly displaying and using the appropriate username. However, I NEED it to be also adding a hashtag to each Twitter share like so:

    “Page Title – Website #twitterhashtag http://shar.es/ykLrk via @username

The hash can fall anywhere in there, but there are no options in the plugin to insert a hashtag like there are when using the standard website Twitter and ShareThis codes. I’d use those if I could but the site has been using the plugin for a while and they don’t want to lose the existing analytics. Is there a php or js file I need to append to force the hashtag into the url? Hope to hear soon! Thanks!

Sorry, I jumped the gun on this.

In the options for the plugin there is a “Click to view/modify the HTML tags” field; adding ‘st_msg=”#HASHTAG” ‘ or appending the ‘st_title’ field with the hashtag will do exactly whatcha want.

    Hello Users,

We have updated the ShareThis WP Plugin and in the new plugin there is no option to edit the code. Instead we have already provided the options to add the Twitter Handle and other details in the Plugin Settings page.

Please make sure that you have installed the new ShareThis Plugin version 7.0.6.
Please implement and let us know if you face any issues and do provide your website details.
