    On a slideshow of photos, does Google or Bing read alt text SEO-type keywords on the photos that are part of a slideshow on a page or post?

    they will if the images are part of the page and not added in using JavaScript. BUT… that will only give you a really tiny boost for SEO. Having better text content and H tags on the page will give you a whole lot better results. 🙂

    Search engines can read all alt, description, keywords and other text on photos/ images unless they are written on them as part of the images/photos that cannot be read.
