• I auto-updated a few plugins (don’t remember which ones were going) and my site went down. I tried resetting my plugins via FTP, replaced all wordpress files BUT the wp-content folder, and tried removing my themes besides the defaults.

    What else can I do?

    Unfortunately it’s an internal site.

    I know it really helps to see the site for troubleshooting.

    Any suggestions on what I can do? It is giving me a server error.

    Do you mean you renamed the plugin folder to deactivate all plugins.

    Just in case, you may also rename the subfolder of your blog’s template, in order to force your blog to revert back to one of the default themes. I don’t find it logical, but it has occasionally unlocked blogs stuck on the white screen of death state for non-theme related reasons.

    @govpatel, I did try that, didn’t work

    @sabinou, I tried that as well, didn’t work.

    The error only occurred after I was auto-updating some plugins, but I don’t remember which ones. Is there anything else I can try?

    Can you look at the server error logs? Ask the server admins or hosting company for help if you don’t know how to access those.

    If you got error when you updating plugins and if you have deactivated all plugins by renaming the plugins folder then you should have your site back.

    Change false to true in your wp-config.php file

    /* That’s all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */ :
    define( ‘WP_DEBUG’, true);

    See what error you get.

    @govpatel, I did that. Where do I check the error log? I refreshed the page in a browser and got the same 500 error.

    You should normally see error as soon as you open your website.

    The only other thing left is see the error log on your server ask your host for help.
