• Resolved web2010

    (@web2010)

I have always upgraded when prompted for all of the sites I am admin to. I have only upgraded on one site and now getting all sorts of problems.

Add media button does not click.

Adding a link using insert link icon in TinyMCE and it makes the page reload and I see /wp-admin/edit.php and a drafts that do not even exist on the blog. I have worked out these drafts are for an RSS feed I have – go figure how that happens!

SEO by Yoast fields no longer appears, just the heading.

I really wish I did not upgrade to this version. It was very soon after the previous one.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

It was very soon after the previous one.

Actually, it was delayed by almost 2 months.

NEVER had so many problems with an upgrade before over all the years I have been using it. Not a great advertisement for WordPress at the moment.

Anyone know where I can get a copy of 3.5?

I understand totally about deactivating plugins but I have plugins installed for functionality. Everything was working perfectly before the upgrade. Really peeved.

Did you carry out any of the steps suggested above?

This post was to alert others that 3.6 is very unstable and to understand that they may experience the same problems as I am now experiencing.

Basic functions of WordPress no longer work and [popular] plugins that were working before, now do not.
