• Hi
Is anyone working on the MySQL 4.1 issues that WP seems to have?
I’ve had no success getting the latest stable WP to install with either PHP4.3.[>3] or PHP5 locally. Both times It’s definitely a MySQL query that hangs the install at the end of step 3. In the end I’ve had to install on the production machine that runs 4.0 (PHP4.3.3). It was a breeze to set-up that time.
http://wordpress.org/support/2/12000 matches my symptoms, refers to the new password hashing of 4.1 and suggests that I user the older password fucntion
Anyway, it’s in my best interest to get things working with 4.1 so I don’t have to hack my installation on a remote machine. However I’m unfamiliar with the codebase and don’t want to make the effort if it’s already in progress.
So, are you aware of the problem? Do you know what needs fixing? Is anyone assigned to fix it? If not can I help?
(I’ve not tried the code in CVS yet)
    cheers

IE users: I suggest that you upgrade to a speedy, stable, secure and highly configurable web browser.
http://www.GetFirefox.com (it really is very good)
