Just updated from 7.0 to 7.0.1
My site is still running, but I got the same error message and it won’t let me Activate the ShareThis Plugin.
Not cool guys…
Fixed it. They forgot to put the string in quotes.
Change
$_stversion=7.0.1;
to
$_stversion='7.0.1';
on Line 34 of the sharethis.php file (if you have access).

My site with WP3.5.2 could not be accessed after upgraded to 7.0.1…I just followed what you had described, and finally, my site back to life now…
