Unable to install WOWslider as plug-in

When I try to Upload WOWslider as a plugin, WP goes to the page, “Do you really want to do this? When I click on “Please try again”, WP takes me back to the a blank Plug-in install page. I am stuck in a never ending loop. Sometimes, I get the error, “Unable to find temp file.” When I try to install WOWslider from a Search, I get the error, “Download failed. Destination directory for file streaming does not exist or is not writable.” I also tried to install slideshowgallery as a plug-in with the exact same results. It appears the common denominator is WP and/or my computer.
