Variation not Working "Span Class…"

I’m trying to add a variation to a product however, in the drop down for the variation (A hoodie is more expensive then a tshirt), it’s showing: “Hoodie (<span class=”amount”>$40</span>”

not sure why the html is showing up in the drop down. I haven’t edited any code.

The drop down is garment type.
