    Clicking on a smiley in the comments area does not result in the smiley being transferred to the commenting box.

    It’s no doubt a path thing – I’ll have a dig 🙂

    Hmm….maybe I broke it in the first place ?

    Firefox reported a js error:
    Error: missing ) after condition
    Source File: http://www.tamba2.org.uk/T2/archives/2005/01/07/when-is-a-fine-not-a-fine/#comments
    Line: 181, Column: 44
    Source Code:
    if (document.getElementById("content") && document.getElementById("content").type == "textarea") {

    So…..I edit this line:
    function grin(tag) {
    var myField;
    if (document.getElementById("content") && document.getElementById("content").type == "textarea") {
    myField = document.getElementById("content");
    }

    by adding the () around the word textarea

    function grin(tag) {
    var myField;
    if (document.getElementById("content") && document.getElementById("content").type == ("textarea")) {
    myField = document.getElementById("content");
    }

    And now the clickable smilies work.

    I have no idea why the error occurred, or if I broke it in the first place – though I don’t recall messing with it – but seeing as I’d posted that it didn’t work, it’s best I post to say that it does work, and very nicely too 🙂
