Starting to get a little comfortable with it now. Just wish I didn’t have to ask variants of the same one question, which is what file holds the code to do whatever. * Anyhow, to make it as easy as possible, I’ve included a sample image here: * [http://www.macliberals.com/temp/example.jpg](http://www.macliberals.com/temp/example.jpg) * I’m using 1.5 with the Manji2 theme. All is basically well, but I have three questions: * 1. See the pink arrows? They all point at an area that (I believe) shares one color. I’m trying to figure out the name of that area so I can change the color. That’s it. * 2. See the blue arrow? Same thing. Want to change the color of the date. That’s it. * 3. This one is harder. See where it says “REVIEW: Pouring some sauce on the-“. Now: see how the wording is sitting on the boarder of the yellow? It’s too close. I want there to be a space there. Even better, a thin graphic ‘bar’ that appears above each new post entry. * In English: I need to know what page holds new posts in 1.5? That is, whenever a new story is posted, it automatically formats the title a certain way. Well I want to add to it an inserted image right above the title. I noticed that too. If you copy the address and drop it in a new browser, all set. I really appreciate it. I’ve contacted the developer of the theme and he told me something I needed to hear: learn more. LOL. You’ve got to understand, I’m like a guy inside a house fixing leaks or painting rooms, unaware of how many rooms are in the house, what a house is, what town it’s in, etcetera… * So he suggested I download the developer tools (?) for Firefox which will give me more direct access to these things I’m tinkering with. Anyone know if that’s a specific tool set and/or where it is? * Also, along the same lines, and I ask these questions so that I won’t have to come back and ask silly questions: what I am using when I alter themes? I mean, are these ‘Dreamweaver’ files? PHP? Where on the web could I take a gander at the basics of this stuff, because when y’all say ‘div’ or ‘margin-top’ I have no idea what you’re referring to. XML? The Firefox web dev kit can be dowloaded from mozilla. WP files are php files. In turn they are written in xhtml with the php threaded thru the middle. Most theming is to be done in either xhtml therefore or the accompanying CSS file. Two observations: * 1. The title space adjustment sounded right, but oddly it moved the date deeper down instead of the title. LOL. Even worse: * 2. Sent these questions to the developer. He gave me good advice to learn more, but he neglected to tell me that the white space above the first post was a GIF and not a color assignment which EXPLAINS why I could have spent the rest of my life looking for it~ LOL! I inserted my own gif the same sticky yello to create the illusion of some indents.
